Joakim Noah has been stirring up the pot lately with some bold comments that have brought a lot of attention his way. Although he’s probably made a couple million enemies in the state of Ohio with his “Cleveland sucks” statement, he’s probably gaining some fans outside the state for his honest comments and entertainment value.
It started after Kevin Garnett’s suspension for throwing an elbow in the Miami/Boston series. Noah decided to offer up his two cents in a series not involving his team, “I’m going to say it: He’s a dirty player,” Noah said. “He’s always swinging elbows, man. I’m hurting right now because of an elbow he threw [when the Bulls played the Celtics last week]. It’s unbelievable. He’s a dirty player. It’s one thing to be competitive and compete. But don’t be a dirty player man. He’s a dirty player.”
Then following the Bulls Game 1 loss to the Cavs during a shootaround Joakim had this to say about his options for his off day. Video below.
“I don’t know about Cleveland, man, there is nothing going on,” Noah said Sunday, lamenting the options for his off day on a typical cloudy and chilly spring day. “It’s bad, man.”
When asked if his dislike for the town would motivate him more in the series, Noah continued.
“What, that Cleveland really sucks?” Noah said
It didn’t stop there though. Following the Bulls Game 2 loss last night in which Noah put up 25 pts, 13 rbs, 3 ast, 1 blk, 1 stl while hearing the “Noah Sucks” chant all game. When asked if he regret anything he said about Cleveland, Noah responded, “Not at all, you like it? You think Cleveland’s cool? I never heard anybody say I’m going to Cleveland on vacation. What’s so good about Cleveland?”
If it’s true what Noah says, if Cleveland really does suck, I just want to know one thing…. WTF was Drew Carey talking about?
As far as the Cavs and Bulls go there’s obviously some history between the two teams going back to the late 80′s. But recently there’s been some history as well, particularly between Joakim Noah and LeBron James. James and the Cavs were having a dance party during a blowout of the Bulls and Noah didn’t like it much that LeBron was showing up his team and said something about it while LeBron is shooting a free throw.
