I’ve been customizing shoes for over seven years now and I’ve seen many fakes of my designs. Having somebody knock off your work and try to pass it off as authentic sucks, but it’s somewhat flattering. My first shoe that was fabricated was the “Salute the Troops” Air Force 1. I kind of wanted to buy a pair just to have as a keepsake, but I realized that I didn’t want to support the people who were doing it. People always asked if I ever tried to go after the dudes that were making the fakes and I always said, “If Nike can’t seem to stop it, what am I going to do?”.
The best thing I can do is educate. I was just forwarded two more fakes of my shoes that I haven’t seen before and they are pretty wack. I’ll do a little photo gallery to compare (the pictures should say the rest). Keep in mind that 90% of my shoes are 1 of 1’s so if you’re seeing one of my designs somewhere else, it’s probably fake.
Authentic JGoods “Furious Flow” Dunk High

Fake “Furious Flow” Dunk High – Make the swirls a little more even and you’re on your way.

Authentic JGoods “Crisp Khaki” Dunk High SB

Fake Crisp Khaki Dunk High – They didn’t even add the darker shades! That’s pretty lazy.
