The Air Max 97′ was designed by Christian Tresser and represented yet another groundbreaking moment in Air technology with an Air sole unit running the length of the entire shoe. Though it still incorporated a layer of polyurethane foam, it offered runners sport-specific crash padding to provide more durable heel-to-toe cushioning. Inspired by the high speed Japanese bullet train, this was the first Air Sole developed specifically for running, harkening back to Nike’s inception as a company on the frontier of high performance footwear for runners. Recently Nike is doing well in releasing some basic colorways on Air Max 97. This particular Air Max 97 features in black upper and red/blue accents under the outsole and the Nike Swooshes on side panels. Patent leather is used around the mudguard which adds glossy, attention-grabbing element to the sneaker.
