I am writing this post as I eagerly await midnight pacific time. At that time, 80spurple.com will be releasing the Official Team Pac Man shirt with all proceeds from sales going towards the Manny Pacquiao Foundation, which was established with the goal to provide support and assistance to the underprivileged in the Philippines by offering aid with medical assistance, education for the youth, and food to those in need. 502 shirts will be released to commemorate the 5/02 fight date against Britain’s Ricky Hatton. FRSH, Filipino pound-for-pound boxing champ Manny Pacquiao and Pound 4 Pound teamed up to create this limited edition shirt for the special occasion. Sales will begin via 80’s Purple this Wednesday, April 15th 2009 and then through FRSH on Friday, April 17th 2009. I got my pink slip on Pacquiao; he’s too fast and I feel as though a lot is lost in translation between Floyd Joy Mayweather, Sr. of the Bronx and Ricky Hatton of Manchester…call it a hunch.
If you haven’t checked out the Pacquiao/Hatton 24/7 on HBO, do that. Episodes two and three of Pacquiao/Hatton 24/7 debut on subsequent Saturdays – APRIL 18 (10:00-10:30 p.m.) and 25 (9:35-10:00 p.m.) – while the finale debuts FRIDAY, MAY 1 (9:30-10:00 p.m.), the night before the fight.
