The Sneaker Culture

So you may recall from last week that it wasn’t originally known what exactly getting one of the ?uestlove gold toe AF1′s entailed; i.e. whether it was something extra and cool or just a hearty pat on the back for waiting in line 38 hours for a 8.33% (repeating, of course) chance of getting your ugly AF1 with some metallic gold fantasticness all over the front half of the shoe. See here:

Well, it turns out you are in luck:

“Lucky winners will not only be getting their hands on a gold pair but also the more readily available red version and an extravagant Roots prize pack. Although no concrete info is available on the Roots prize pack, allegedly it includes a trip to a Roots show/party.”

Is it just me or does that 8.33% from before also coincide with the number of the original buyers of this shoe who will actually go to the Roots show/party? Think of the money these babies are going to be going for eBay!! Flip those gold toes and buy…uh…the next pair of hyper-limited AF1′s(?)

If I didn’t have a job, didn’t have anything to do for two days, had a tent, lived in Philly, and loved weird shoes…I’d be all over these.
